Objectives & Outcomes

Specific Objective 1 –To define the needs of the innovation’s stakeholders in the mobility sector
To conduct a European wide survey
To Identify the needs of the key stakeholders
To define what is the offer and the gaps

Addressed in WP2 – Expedite a holistic intelligence process

State of the art & progress beyond: A number of initiatives have already explored the needs (ie INTRASME & RECREATE & INNOTRANS) of the key mobility innovation stakeholders. However, none of the former initiatives has concentrated on identifying the gaps and develop solutions to plug them. INNO-MOB will implement a holistic market-demand-supply intelligence process which will prioritize the identification of needsenablers and barriers- of the mobility innovation stakeholders while mapping the ecosystem & identifying the needs and inter-relations of its actors. The consortium will deploy a collective intelligence framework that will focus on generating innovative approaches by involving key stakeholders & users relevant in the mobility sector.

Major Outcome: WP3 will deliver the specific needs of the innovation stakeholders as well as conduct a comparative analysis between the needs (demand) and the offer. Based on that, gaps in support services provision by initiatives/networks will be identified which will enable the development of a robust INNO-MOB advocacy collaboration model.

Specific Objective 2–To support the mobility networks & initiatives apply an ‘opening up’ strategy
To expedite new (and/or improved) supporting services
To design tools that improve the skills of the stakeholders
To design pilot schemes, implement them and measure the impact
To enable a gender balanced participation

Addressed in WP3 – Collective Innovation Deployment Development Support Model

State of the art & progress beyond: There is a plethora of initiatives and networks run in the regions and/or countries (eg Growth Accelerators, Knowledge Transfer Networks, Proof of concept schemes run by CUS). Also, there is a number of Pan-European networks such as the European BIC Network and the Enterprise Europe Network. INNO-MOB will align assets & create shared strategies for competitiveness and growth for the initiatives and networks involved in the project which will support states and regions to be able to optimize the utilization of existing assets and strategically invest in programs and infrastructure that will benefit all innovator actors.

Major Outcome: WP3 will deliver the INNO-MOB programme. This will consist of new strategies for integrating new services and stakeholders in the pre-defined networks identified at proposal level. Of course, these might be enriched as the project goes along. This will incorporate also piloting of the actions to a selected number of stakeholders. A monitoring and evaluation matrix will be established in order to enable the assessment and review of the programme.

Specific Objective 3 – To create interconnected innovation networks on mobility
This objective will focus on developing links with regional /national strategies and clusters by bringing them together under the MIN that will be put together in the project in the form pan-European clusters of heterogeneous regions where SMEs, investors, Universities and other stakeholders can identify opportunities for collaboration. Selected good practices and case studies will be also demonstrated on the digital portal where several online functions will support the knowledge transfer and communication between the actors.

Addressed in WP4 – Mobility Innovation Networks (MIN)

State of the art & progress beyond: A range of networks and initiatives occur in the participating countries. Most of them are in the form of clusters and they are restricted to the geographical boarders of one country or region. Former and running INNOSUP projects, privately funded clusters, and FP/H2020 projects have formulated networks. Specifically, the INTRASME project has already put in place ‘super clusters’ that run for a number of years but they are dormant lately. INNO-MOB will re-mobilise the existing ‘super clusters’ and enlarge the participation of more diverse actors.

Major Outcome: WP4 will act as a catalyst in enabling the communication and networking between the stakeholders of the innovation eco-systems. It will also include functions to conduct training, networking, online repository of best practices, services,
initiatives.

Specific Objective 4 – To implement joint awareness raising and communication campaigns
To reach out to more stakeholders in different territories
To establish dedicated engagement activities between the stakeholders.
To promote the project to a wide range of stakeholders
To perform a marketing campaign in order to recruit stakeholders
To ensure policy buy-in

Addressed in WP5 -Dissemination, Communication Exploitation

State of the art & progress beyond: There has been a significant proliferation of support initiatives and networks programmes across industrialised countries over the past decade . While this suggests that the concept is of interest to policymakers worldwide in the promotion of SME support framework, there is little evidence of crosscomparison of ideas and intervention to examine what constitutes a successful intervention. Given this finding, the sharing of knowledge across borders appears to be an important mechanism for the transfer of good practice between practitioners.

Major Outcome: WP5 will foster the creation of strong links between local actors in developing ecosystems, particularly research, education institutions and local authorities and incoming start-ups, and experts to enhance transfer of technology and knowledge to supply them with innovative solutions.
